Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our team developing the company’s next generation software platform.  The primary role of the post-holder will be to develop software tools, processes and test methodologies in support of a structured approach for our commercial products under development.

We are seeking candidates who have:

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level at a leading university in a computer science, engineering or mathematics
  • At least 2 years’ experience developing commercial software products
  • Highly proficient in C# and .NET
  • Experienced in software quality approaches/strategies (e.g. TDD)
  • Experienced in automated testing
  • Experience of NUnit or similar
  • Experience of managing/performing regression test suites
  • Experience working in a formal (ideally regulated) environment
  • An understanding of Agile/Scrum
  • Experience of managing software releases (to Internal and external customers)
  • Experience of managing customer facing backlogs
  • Adaptable and resourceful

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the company’s activity to develop automated assays and workflows for the lab-on-a-chip devices.  The primary role of the post-holder is to support the operation of chemistry, biochemistry and physics laboratories where researchers carry out experimental studies.  Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Laboratory housekeeping

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our team developing the company’s software products.  The primary role of the Software Engineer will be to design and implement algorithms and automation scripts to control the manipulation of droplets on the lab-on-a-chip devices. As well as coding, responsibilities will include the simulation and live testing of the lab-on-a-chip devices.

We are seeking candidates who have:

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level at a leading university in a computer science, engineering or mathematics
  • Experience coding in Python and embedded scripting languages (e.g. IronPython in .NET applications)
  • Experience developing algorithms for instrumentation control, game development, computer vision applications or equivalent
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely with other members of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to deliver to deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Desirable:

  • Masters or PhD degree in software related field

We are seeking a Research Scientist to join our team developing new applications for our lab-on-a-chip devices.  At the heart of these devices, the interaction between the droplets and surrounding environment is a critical factor in determining the performance of the biochemical assays and workflows performed on them.  In this hands-on role you will study this interaction and optimise the biochemical formulations to be used in a range of fluidic protocols on our devices.  Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Performing biochemical assays on the devices to identify potential issues
  • Proposing ideas and solutions to optimise biochemical assays
  • Designing experiments to quantify and benchmark improvements in assay performance
  • Analysing results and writing reports

  • A MSc, PhD or equivalent industrial experience

  • Significant coding experience in C++ and/or C# within the .NET framework

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join the company’s Quality Team.  In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the creation and update of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Leading training of internal users in relation to key SOPs
  • Assisting in the development of work instructions
  • Conducting internal audits against relevant standards and regulations to an internal audit schedule
  • Assisting with external audits of suppliers against relevant standards and regulations; generating audit plans, working documents and reports

We are seeking an assay developer to join our multi-disciplinary team developing new products based on our proprietary lab-on-a-chip platform.  In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Defining assay specifications to meet given product requirements, including acceptance and tolerance criteria
  • Designing and implementing automated assay protocols and workflows on the lab-on-a-chip devices
  • Analysing performance data and tailoring assay design and conditions for optimal on device performance
  • Coordinating and conducting quality testing including verification and benchmarking against conventional gold standard techniques
